Podcamp 2011 Recap

Podcamp Nashville

Cadillac Ranch- Home to Podcamp 2011

Just like Christmas, it’s here and gone before you know it and leaves you looking forward till next year. Podcamp was different for me this year. Why? I volunteered during the event. Having been to Podcamp last year and Barcamp in the fall, I felt that it was time to return the favor that these great events had bestowed upon me. What exactly that entailed, I wasn’t so sure about, but I was going to do whatever I could to make the event enjoyable for someone else.

My wife called me during the day and asked if I was having fun, and I responded that it was interesting. She got worried that I wasn’t enjoying myself after I had been looking forward to this, but I told her that it was a different experience helping out.

Mind On Tap

Cluttered Desk

Cluttered Desk = Cluttered Mind?

A lot has been going on around the CdM headquarters. School is in full swing and just as overwhelming as ever. Life throws inevitable curve balls as much as it can, and tomorrow we find out who the little one is going to be called(possibly). A cluttered desk, a cluttered mind makes. Perhaps. I always figure it for creative genius at work. There’s a lot going on in the works behind the scenes that have made for some hectic days.

The iPad Class Project- How’s that coming along? Pretty much it has become a bust. Not on my part entirely though. The reason the experiment is over, is due to the fact I am no longer taking that class. After having my transcript reevaluated after 4 years, turns out I don’t need the class anymore. Gone. That leaves me with two remaining classes:

Multimedia Capstone- So far everything is going well. I have been named the liaison for the group, so I am the go to person on everything to turn in. If you knew me, you’d realize how out of character that is for me.

Program Logic & Design- Ugh. I’d rather not even talk about this class. It makes me feel like the dumbest person in the world. I am at least a week behind and struggling to try and understand it. I’m a visual person, I just don’t tend to think with that side of my brain.

Podcamp Nashville is coming up on March 26, 2011. Really looking forward to another tech conference. I decided to volunteer this year, and one of my professor’s is presenting a session on planning for multimedia. As usual, I plan to take audio and video if I have the chance.

My sister site, Redneck Ryokan, is finally going live. The premise of the site is a recipe blog for the most part. Every time friends come down to the Redneck Ryokan, we indulge in good food, and I wanted to let others know that they can make the same good food anywhere. This will also be the launching pad for my iPhone/iPad app, if it ever gets off the ground.

Starting to get late, so let’s wrap things up. Last Monday, I started my training for the Tour de Nash. Here’s to hoping I can get myself back in race shape for the first time in 18 years.
